social media trends 2018

Social Media Trends and Insights for 2018

Social media trends never cease to surprise us with its rapid evolution and growing features. It’s clear that it has continued to change at a rapid pace and we know you want to stay ahead of the social game, right? Right! For example, over a year ago, several major social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram added sharing stories as a feature – – fast forward to the present, over 300 million people are sharing stories on Instagram everyday!

If you want to be successful as a chef, hairstylist, makeup artist, realtor, or any type of occupation that is entrepreneurial in nature, it’s crucial to stay ahead of the social media curve and embrace its latest trends.

That’s why we’ve put together 7 of the top major trends to help grow your business on social media now!

1. Ephemeral Stories

Source: Fonepaw

This type of content is a great way to create fresh content, reach wider audiences, and create urgency as well as exclusivity to your viewers. What is an ephemeral story? It’s a message, whether it be text, image or video, that is shown on your profile for a limited period of time and disappears. Although Snapchat was the original creator of this type of content sharing, Instagram and Facebook has just as many, if not more users.

So what does this mean for your business?

This means you have the opportunity to share a myriad of unique content to reach audience members that may not be following you yet and/or make your current followers feel special. It’s also an opportunity to stay fresh in your viewer’s minds by appearing at the top (refer to the image above as to how your stories appear on one’s header). Here are some ideas for sharing ephemeral stories on the platform that you prefer:

-Sneak peeks into your brand/company’s products

-Offer a limited time promotion

-Show your personality with sharing something special to you or something funny

-Day in the life of video or behind-the-scenes

2. Social Messaging and Social Call-Out Customer Service

There was a time when customer service used to only be held in private; emails, phone calls and forms. Not anymore. As long as the use of social media rises (and it probably will), so will the rise of customer service being in the public eye. Businesses that have a facebook page, instagram page or any social media platform cannot afford to ignore customers. Many social media users are quick to essentially “call out” a business for their dissatisfaction and it is in your business interest to respond to all social messages/comments in a timely manner.

Ignoring any social media comments or messages about your business can have dire consequences and can discourage other fans to distrust your business. It’s not worth it. Make it a priority to respond to all messages on social.

3. Currently 2.46 BILLION Social Media Users

It’s also been predicted to have over 3 billion social media users in the year 2021. With that being said, out of the 2.45 billion social media users that are online day to day, some of them could be your most valuable future fans and/or customers. It just comes down to how you are targeting them. What’s the best way to target your specific type of customers? Ask yourself the following questions about your business:

-What is your niche

-What type of fans/customers do you currently have?

-What types of things motivates your target?

-Most importantly, what niche do you enjoy working in? (Ex: for hairstylists, enjoy cutting hair for kids? elderly? special ocassions?)

-Although tempting to want to target everyone, it’s simply not possible and does not provide your marketing strategy with a laser-like focus.

4. Social Media on Mobile >> Desktop

As the rate of mobile users increases year by year, it’s crucial for entrepreneurs to provide mobile-friendly content. Currently, the most popular social media platforms that are used on mobile are: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. Here are some tips on making more mobile-friendly content:

-Crop images that are easily viewable on smaller screens

-Keep headlines/captions short, precise and engaging

-Consider employing a social media content management tool such as CoSchedule, Hootsuite or IFTTT

5. Video: The Most Popular Content Type

By the year 2020, according to, 80% of the entire global internet traffic will soon be attributed by videos! In fact, 73% of B2B companies have reported positive results to their ROI from their marketing campaigns. With that being said, video content has become so increasingly valuable and popular that it’s impossible for businesses and entrepreneurs to ignore.

6. User-Generated Content

Source: Slideshare

So, what is user-generated content and what does it mean? It is essentially any content that is created from a customer using a specific product or brand. For example, if Sheila buys a Starbucks drink and takes a selfie with her Starbucks and tags @Starbucks on Instagram, that is what’s considered user-generated content because Sheila created the content. It’s a great way to encourage trust from other brand users and showcases a truer than true testimonial.

How can you incorporate user-generated content for your brand’s social media?

Here are some tips:

-Run contest/quizzes/promotions on social media and encourage users to participate and provide content

-Leverage the use of hashtags to spread the word of your promotion/contest while encouraging users to use it when talking about your brand’s contest. Ex: #PutACanOnIt

-Reposting your fans’ or user’s content to show them you appreciate them

7. Trust Declines as Peer Influence Rise

Remember the days when you’d see celebrity endorsements on your favorite cereal box? Or how about Macho Man Randy Savage “snapping into a Slim Jim”? These days, celebrity endorsements aren’t as impactful. In fact, as cool as those celebrities are, it’s going to take much more to convince a consumer to buy into a brand.

So, why did celebrity endorsements stop working? One answer: authenticity

The demand for authenticity is higher than ever and it comes down to how you portray that in your brand or product. Be yourself, use stories to record conversations about your brands with people who have actually used it. Encourage users to tell stories about your brand and tag you on it.

showing gratitude - winning

How Showing Gratitude Helps You WIN!

Thanksgiving is that time of year where we pause to count all our blessings and show appreciation. But gratitude should be practiced all year long and every day! Especially since showing gratitude has been linked to better physical health, improved relationships, more energy, powerful mental/emotional strength, and many other amazing benefits!

To improve the quality of your life and the life of those around you, gratitude can be the key player to facilitate this at the highest level.

Here are some of the benefits that an attitude of gratitude will bring you!

1.Gratitude Opens More Doors and Builds Connections

Have you ever heard the saying “A person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected”

This rings true in any relationship-family, spouse, friends, employees, or business partners. A 2014 Study published in Emotion showed that strangers are more likely to seek an ongoing relationship from hearing appreciation from you. Whether this is through a thank you note or acknowledging their hard work, following up and showing sincere appreciation will always benefit you in the long run!

2.Gratitude Improves Confidence & Self Esteem

An essential component for optimal performance in an athlete is having great self esteem. A 2014 study published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology found that gratitude increased athlete’s self-esteem tremendously! Many other studies have found that cultivating gratitude daily incredibly reduces social comparisons. As we are grateful for our own lives and blessings, there isn’t any resentment towards others successes. These studies have proven that people who are more grateful and positive each day, will appreciate their own accomplishments, as well as those around them.

3.Gratitude Is Good For Your Overall Health

Being grateful and focusing on the good each day has shown to be phenomenal for your physical and mental well being! According to a 2012 study published in Personality and Individual Differences, grateful people feel fewer aches and pains, sleep better, and are more likely to take care of their health.

Writing in a gratitude journal has been proven to drastically improve sleep. Take some time before bed and focus on all the good things that happened that day. As you’re reflecting, you’ll began to feel the stress or negative feelings dissipate! Whether you’re writing these in a journal or meditating, find some way to wind down and make a list of what you’re grateful for that day.

4.Gratitude Makes You a Happier Human Being

“The wealthiest person on earth is the one who appreciates.”-Tony Robbins

Lifestyle Entrepreneur and Speaker Tony Robbins has said in his speeches countless times that, fulfillment and happiness does not come solely from money. He’s worked with billionaires and hundreds of well known names, and has concluded that some of the wealthiest men and women he’s ever met, are some of the most unhappy!

Avoid getting in the pattern of saying “When I make this amount I’ll be happy” or “When I accomplish this…I’ll be happy”

Be happy NOW. Be grateful NOW for what you’ve been given and what you have in this moment. You never know when it can be gone, so never take it for granted!

Still, chase those goals and be ambitious for all the things you dream about, but make sure to always be appreciative and SHOW it along the way!

How to be more grateful

  • Keep a gratitude journal
  • Be aware of what you think and say
  • Spend more time with loved ones
  • Embrace any setbacks or failures as feedback. Learn from them and keep pushing forward!
  • Mindfully use social media
  • Volunteer. Participate in something that is outside of yourself and give back to others.
  • Exercise regularly. This has been proven to reduce stress and set you up for more gratitude. “Life is a series of problems that have to be solved — and a lot of times those problems cause stress,” says Dr. Robert Emmons, gratitude researcher and psychology professor at the University of California, Davis. “Gratitude can be that stress buster.”

How to SHOW gratitude to the people around us

  • Send a hand-written thank you note
  • Spend quality time, take them out to lunch!
  • Give a small thoughtful gift
  • Be an active listener
  • Perform a random act of kindness
  • Always say Thank You

Thanks for reading, and as always, please comment and share what you are most grateful for or how you show gratitude towards others.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving this week!

Until next time!

Taking the Road Less Traveled By

“I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference”-Robert Frost

What does this quote mean to you? In the best selling book “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson, he explains that 95 percent of us will choose the easiest route. For example, hitting the snooze button every morning, skipping workouts, not saving money, etc.

The other 5 percent knows that success stems from making the best everyday choices. They know those private unseen moments ultimately determine what path your life will take. They risk being uncomfortable enough to reach new heights and make those everyday choices that will lead to a more fulfilled and successful life.

One of the biggest points Olson emphasizes in this powerful book, is that we are never staying in the same place. We are either making choices that lead us on the upward curve towards abundant success and progress OR we are riding that downward curve with poor choices inhibiting our growth.

the slight edge - curve

Motivational Speaker, Mel Robbins, discusses why it’s so critical to make powerful decisions in this short clip, and how to start doing them.

Start Somewhere!

So what area in your life do you want to see more success in? Is it in your spiritual life? Do you want more growth in your career or financial life? `Whatever it is, Olson offers a simple solution.

First, decide where it is you want to see improvement. Pick just one thing for now that you would love to see change in your life. The key is to start somewhere! That first move will give you the momentum to keep making more and more changes over time. In The Slight Edge, Olson says,”Wherever you can take action and begin creating little successes DO IT.” Because guess what? These little successes will always pour into other areas of your life. That 5 percent group I was talking about KNOWS that you can’t accomplish it all at once. Time is their friend and they don’t get discouraged when things don’t change right away.

If you’ve been wanting to improve your health, start by taking a walk around the neighborhood once a day, join a gym, or stop drinking soda. You want to be a more organized person? Start with that junk drawer that drives you crazy! Do you want to improve the relationships in your life? Maybe start by showing little acts of service each day or saying I love you more!

Whatever area it is, just stay patient and consistent and watch the progress inevitably happen.

Ignore the Doubters

“Men will never fly, because flying is reserved for angels.”

Do you know who said that? The famous Wright Brothers father, Milton Wright. Clearly the Wright Brothers didn’t let words get them down. They invented and flew the world’s first successful airplane, took to the sky, and proved all the people who doubted them wrong.

Do you know what keeps many of us from “flying”? Before we turn 5 years old, we’ve already heard 40,000 no’s and only hear yes about 5,000 times. As we get older, hearing no becomes more and more frequent. At some point in our lives, we share our dreams and ambitions and get shot down or told to choose something more realistic.

In The Slight Edge, Olson says,” If you are one of those rare and special 5 percenters who decides to ignore gravity, take to the sky and break free of the downward pull of life – I’ve got good and bad news for you. The good news is you’re already exceptionally well oriented toward success. The bad news, is all those 95 percenters are going to be yanking on you, sitting on you, naysaying, and doing their best to pull you back down.”

WHY? Because if you succeed, it reinforces the fact that they are not where they want to be.

Rise up and drown out the negative voices from others.

Blame vs. Taking Responsibility

If you want to get a good idea of how successful you or anyone else will be, this is a pretty good determinant. The predominant state of mind displayed by people on the upward curve of success is taking responsibility. Can you guess what the downward failure curve individuals display? Blame.

Taking responsibility liberates you. Hard times come upon all of us , and most will be completely out of our control. How we view and react to these setbacks makes the difference between success and failure.  “A man can fail many times, but he isn’t a failure until he begins to blame somebody else.”

Don’t be a victim, this is the perfect mind set for failure. Set high standards, take responsibility for who and where you are in life.

the slight edge - blame

Taking the road less traveled by takes you to exciting places, helps you form great relationships, and become the best version of yourself. Most people don’t want to put in the work that’s required to get there.

Here are some other fantastic quotes from The Slight Edge to give you some motivation for the week! Hope you liked this article. Tackle your goals this week and we’ll see you on the upward curve!

“The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is in the simple choices they make everyday. Successful people take simple and positive actions that are repeated over time. Unsuccessful people do the exact opposite: they make simple errors in judgment that are repeated over time.”

“It’s tough to get rid of the habit you don’t want by facing it head on. The way to accomplish it is to replace the unwanted habit with another habit that you do want. And creating new and better habits, ones that empower and serve you, is something you know how to do. You do it the same way you built any habit you have: one step at a time.”

“Your relationships, financial health, attitudes, level of success in your career, and everything else about your life will tend to be very close to the average level of each of these conditions in your five closest friends and associates.”

“Successful people fail their way to the top.”

1.Streaming LIVE & Video Marketing

By now you have probably heard the terms “streaming” or going LIVE on Facebook or Instagram. These social platforms have truly made it easier than ever to create live video events with your audience. Personally, I think the best part about going live on any social network is the opportunity to organically connect with your followers and consumers. This is the perfect tool to start a Q&A, answer business and personal life questions, or share some exciting news.

At the bottom of every live video is a pop up for followers to type in any questions or comments throughout your video. This is an incredibly authentic way to connect with your audience!

Real Estate agents all over the world have used this tool to their advantage by doing live virtual open houses or opening videos up to questions about their new listings.

2.Powerful Content

According to Contactually, 448,800 tweets, 1,440 WordPress blog posts, and 500 Youtube videos go up every minute. So what makes yours so special? How do you diversify your content?

Being able to personalize yourself with an interesting blog or powerful social media presence is one of the biggest marketing trends this year. New home buyers are looking for as much possible information about you, your style, and homes you’re selling.

real estate success - creative

Every post should have creative content that presents you as an expert in your community or of your Real Estate niche. Some ways to do this include….

-Get others involved! Reach out to others in your community, conduct interviews, feature guests, and anyone else that can add something different to your posts.

-ALWAYS have a captivating title. That’s your readers first impression and it has to be engaging.

-Quality comes before quantity. Be informative in your posts, but make them short, sweet, and to the point.

-Start Giveaways & Contests to gain more likes, comments, and followers. Get your community excited about your page!

-Ask questions & follow up with “Tell us what you think in the comments!” Question posts get 100% more comments than standard text-based posts.

3.Virtual & Digital Showings

“Online viewers are highly visual and want to see as much as they can about products–and especially real estate. That makes it more important than ever for real estate listings have excellent photography and presentation.” -Roberta Murp, Real Estate Agent Carlsbad, CA.

Digital showings give buyers the freedom to navigate properties from home, visualize themselves living there, and get the information they need without scheduling a showing. This isn’t just a trend in Real Estate marketing. Virtual showings will soon become a listing standard as they are becoming more and more popular.

How To Become a Charismatic Leader for Massive Success!

When you were younger, was there someone you looked up to? Who was it that inspired you to pursue the career you have today? There are certain people in our lives who spark inspiration in us and push us to be better. These people were leaders who led you to your future potential.  Whether that was your parents, a friend, or a coach, it made a lasting impression on you.

charismatic-leader real estate

The MOST successful business leaders do the same for their clients. Having a charismatic leader is needed for any type of business and has been proven crucial for success. They are the face of their company and they make a lasting impression on their clients and followers. They inspire and connect with their audience the best way they can. They show them the exciting future and charismatically lead them to their goals.

Why having a charismatic leader is necessary for your business

Genius Entrepreneur and Marketing expert Russell Brunson, says consumers always need to associate someone like-able with a particular product or business. There needs to be a deeper connection other than just a transaction. According to Harvard Business Review and The University of Lausanne, a charismatic leader outperforms their non-charismatic peers by an average of 60%. Numerous studies and research has shown that having a like-able leader as the face of your company will attract better attention, leads, and a thriving business! Let’s take a look at some CEO’s and powerful figures to see how they used this to their advantage!

Steve Jobs was bright, intelligent, and an incredibly interesting speaker. Consumers were always on the edge of their seats to tune-in to his new invention or idea. Everyone associates Apple products with Steve Jobs because he was a charismatic leader who always showed them the exciting future. Steve Jobs always knew what would appeal to his audience and obviously gained great success from doing so!

Future Based Movement

How did Obama capture his audience so well? Why did Donald Trump have such a successful campaign? The answer is that they created a future based movement. They didn’t waste their time talking about the present. Possible one of the reasons they won, was because they helped their audience see what the future held and helped them envision it as a reality.

Martin Luther King Jr. gave moving speeches that helped the whole world visualize a more peaceful future. One direct quote from his “I Have a Dream” speech says “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” The vision of a better future seemed impossible to the people living in that time. Martin was determined his voice be heard and with that voice he gave people hope.

What do you offer that will give consumers a brighter future? Always highlight what their future end result will look like with what you have to offer.

What are some other Qualities of a Charismatic Leader?

“Being a leader gives you charisma. If you look and study the leaders who have succeeded, that’s where charisma comes from, from the leading.” – Seth Godin

Thanks to research, we know that charisma is a quality everyone can develop. So what other qualities will help you become a more charismatic leader? Charisma starts with a sense of self. What do you want to be charismatic about and why? Aim to have charisma in a purpose or group of people you are genuinely passionate about helping and working with.

real estate success

Attentiveness: A charismatic leader makes the people around them feel valued and genuinely listened to.  They engage with them on social media and stay tuned to what their audience wants and needs.

Listen intently and make good eye contact. Numerous studies have shown that eye contact increases likability, attractiveness, and trustworthiness. Harvard researchers also conducted studies on how sharing information about ourselves impacts our brains. Did you know that our brains are literally wired to enjoy sharing information about ourselves? Sharing information about ourselves triggers areas of the brain associated with reward and pleasure! With this knowledge, understand that being a charismatic leader is LESS about you, and more about how you make others feel.

A charismatic leader lets people know that they matter through big and small gestures, a firm handshake, and anything else that will let them know they are valued.

Charismatic leader

Passion: Charismatic leaders are passionate and they show it. They radiate warmth, positive energy and attract people everywhere they go. The psychology behind this is something called “emotional cognition.” Many studies show that strong emotions are contagious. If you have a coworker who is constantly negative for example, you’ll find that you may start to think a little pessimistically when you are around them. Likewise, surrounding yourself with positive and uplifting people can inspire you and help you think more positively.

A charismatic leader shares exciting videos and pictures of themselves doing what they love. When they speak to clients they are genuinely passionate about helping them. I guarantee you won’t find a powerful historical leader or successful CEO who wasn’t incredibly passionate about their cause or business!

Stretch the world: Charismatic leaders are bold and push the boundaries beyond what is ordinarily thought possible. They talk about ideas that are bigger than themselves and took action towards making it happen.

They believe in themselves:  A charismatic leader has fears and anxieties like anyone else, but they don’t allow it to disrupt their vision. One of the best ways to boost your confidence when a trial comes along, is to look back and reflect on how you overcame it in the past. Great leaders remind themselves there’s nothing they can’t get through and that kind of thinking allows them to succeed.

Becoming a charismatic leader comes down to passionately caring about your niche and target audience. It means showing them the future and gearing them towards that. Every single thriving company, religion, and winning political campaign had a figure everyone could associate it with. To get started, start adapting and practicing these skills. With hard work your community can look up to you, and your success is inevitable!

To wrap up, check out this awesome quote by Russell Brunson in his bestselling book Expert Secrets! He says, “You have been blessed with talents, ideas, and unique abilities that have gotten you to where you are in life, and those gifts were given to you so you could share them with others. There are people today who NEED what you have! And they are just waiting for you to find your voice, so you can help them change their lives. What a tragedy for them if you don’t develop your voice now.”

effective habits - good day

6 Highly Effective Habits of Successful People

Creating habits to become more productive is an ongoing process. New updates, emails, and meetings pop up and throw us off our routines all the time. So how do you stay productive amongst all these distractions?

You form new effective habits, discipline your time, and make your actions for your day connect to your long term goals.

Here are 6 tips to help get you started!

1. Develop a Morning Routine

I know your bed feels extra comfy in the morning, BUT some of the most successful and influential people use this time to kick start their day. Whether it’s a morning walk, eating a healthy breakfast, or practicing yoga- many entrepreneurs will tell you this is one of the most transformative and effective habits to become more productive!

Developing a great morning routine is important because it sets the tone for the rest of your day. If you wake up as late as possible, skip breakfast, and rush to work daily- this can take a toll on you in the long run and leave you feeling exhausted and unfulfilled.

Your first instinct when you wake up is probably to go through your Facebook, emails, Instagram, etc. It’s recommended to avoid those right away, postpone that until after you are finished with your growth building routine.  You may come across something upsetting, or an angry email- this is obviously not the best way to start your day. You’ll have a better reaction after yoga, running, or other mind/body building routines to start your day off on a positive note.

A planned morning routine will set you up for success and leave you feeling more organized and less anxious throughout your day. Successful entrepreneurs master this great skill.

“The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”- John C. Maxwell

2. Practice an Evening Routine

How you end your day is just as important as how you began it.

Reflect over your day. What were your successes, even if they were small? What could’ve been improved? What did you love most about today? What will you do better tomorrow? Pose questions that will bring you closer to your goals for yourself and your business.

Make a Plan! Make a list of your top priorities with an organized plan of what you will accomplish the next day. Learn from your mistakes today to make it an even better tomorrow! This will help you wake up feeling prepared for your day.

Lastly, don’t forget to have fun. Make sure to spend time doing the things you love with the ones you love most.

3. Figure out when you are MOST focused

One of the most popular tips for becoming a more productive human being, is to pinpoint when you feel most energized and most focused. Then use this hour or two of your day to brainstorm, make important calls, or whatever needs most of your energy/creativity. You are now more excited and focused to accomplish your tasks.

Does this energy stem from an awesome workout? After reading a chapter from an inspirational book? Find your “feel good” moment and take off from there!

4. Adjust your TO-DO Lists

Most often, our to-do lists set us up for becoming overwhelmed. Did you know minimizing these lists is actually more effective for your day? Why include items to your list that you know you’ll never get done? This leaves us trying to catch up with our day and feeling more fatigued.

Solution? Jot down what absolutely needs to be done that day, and move forward after those are crossed off. Give 100% to one or two things at a time, instead of 10% of your best to a million other items.

Productivity expert Leo Babauta is an advocate of MITs (Most Important Tasks). He wakes up and decides what three things that he must accomplish that day. One of these tasks must move him closer toward his long term goal.  This effective habit has been proven to boost productivity in the highest fashion.

5. Act with Intention

Now that you have a productive plan for the day and you’ve narrowed down your list to what is most important –  make sure every visit, call with a client, email, and bullet point on your list is done with a purpose.  What’s the goal of the conversations you have to have today? Plan responses ahead of time and anticipate your customers concerns and needs for the day.

6. Be selective with your time

Be stingy with your time and who gets it. Reversely treat other people’s time with respect.

Avoid lagging on timelines, and perform tasks as quickly and efficiently as you can. This is one of the most effective habits that has to be a priority to be productive! Cut yourself off from all distractions, work down your list, and then allow yourself a break for lesser priorities or free time.

What changes will YOU make today in order to produce a more energy and productivity in your day/life? Take small steps every day with these habits and watch your business thrive.

“We first make our habits, and then our habits make us”-John Dryden

power of videos - girl

The Power of Videos For Your Business

Did you know that videos are considered the future of online marketing? Many Real Estate agents are just realizing the power of video marketing and are now using it as their main marketing platform. Research has shown that using marketing videos gives you a 41% rate increase in Google search results and 75% gain in closing the deal. It’s these types of results that has peeked everyone’s interest.

Why wouldn’t you want to grow your business with these known stats? We’re going to show you how to set-up, stage, and learn the basics of delivering up successful videos for your business. Let’s get started!

real estate business - start

1. Set Up

In order to start recording awesome videos, you first need to find the right camera. No, you don’t need to go out and purchase the newest & most expensive camera out there- BUT you do need to know how to make the best of what you already have. If you don’t think the camera you currently have is all that great, there are plenty of reasonably priced cameras that will take clear and captivating footage for you.

Higher-quality cameras and editing software can make all the difference, and will matter even more when you start getting sponsorship’s, collaborating on videos, and even shooting live events.

We recommend checking out the MEVO camera! It is small, connects to any social media platform to post on the spot, and is equipped with professional editing tools. To learn more about this camera click here.

Now that you’ve found the perfect camera to use, its time to set up where to shoot and what type of lighting you will use. Ideally you want to choose a room that is bright and open. We recommend avoiding nasty shadows and harsh natural light as well. The most popular lighting tool people use for “at home” shoots is an LED light. These come in all types of sizes and prices, so customize your search to what works best for you.

There are even mini LED lights to attach to your phone for live videos! This is the most flattering lighting and used by almost every popular vlogger out there.

Let’s keep it simple…stay centered and make sure you are right in the middle of your shot. Avoid holding your camera directly below your face while recording or too close up.

2. Staging

Setting the stage for your background has a huge impact on the look and feel of your videos. These videos can take place in your office or out on an adventure with you at a beautiful home! There’s a wide variety of places you can choose from, but if you are planning on consistently shooting from your home, its important to designate a room and set the stage accordingly.

Keep it clean and simple. Setting up your background could involve a cute (yes I just said cute, ha,ha) bookcase, a beautiful lamp, flowers in a vase- whatever fits your style! Avoid a dark, gloomy, messy, or unorganized backdrop.

If you do plan on taking your camera to a new listing, plan ahead of time for your favorite two or three rooms to highlight. This way you aren’t running around from room to room confusing the viewers. Show them what is the most appealing and spend your video time highlighting those areas.

Live or Scripted?

Another key factor when creating videos is deciding whether you’re going to do a live or scripted video.

A live video on Instagram or Facebook instantly sends a notification to all of your friends & followers that you are recording. This is great for your real estate or mortgage business and has been proven to attract a lot more viewers. Live video is also a little more intriguing as they are more natural and organic than just a regular scripted video.

Live video is ideal for new listings, an exciting announcement, or useful tips to share with your followers.

A scripted video is planned ahead of time, recorded, edited, then uploaded for all your viewers to see. There are many benefits to planning and writing out your videos ahead of time. This way you’ll have better focus and control on your key points, as well as knowing exactly how everything will turn out!

Find your niche and unique personal style. All of the above components teach you HOW to stage and set up, but an equally important factor is how you will stand out from other individuals in the business. Make a list and brainstorm on ideas that excite and motivate you to get started!

Generate Real Estate Leads Through Social Media

In the competitive world of Real Estate business, creating a top notch social media presence is crucial for generating leads. If you’ve never been a big social media user, you may be asking why this is a necessity for your real estate business.

86% of businesses have contributed most of their success to having a stellar social media plan.  Studies have also shown that customers would purchase from businesses with an active social media presence rather than without. This revolutionary change in marketing gives you the ability to expand your relationships, generate real estate leads, and better understand what people in your community are truly looking for.

There is a popular quote that goes something like…

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”

So what has always been your marketing strategy? In order to see new results (with anything), you’re going to have to try something new. Awesome leads can’t just appear out of nowhere, you need to create exposure for yourself and your business.

Facebook and Instagram are the most popular platforms for you to get started with, with over 700 million daily active users. Today, we are going to give you a few tips on how to increase your real estate leads through each of these platforms.

We are going to focus more on how to generate leads organically, rather than utilizing the paid ads/campaigns through these two social platforms. If you want to learn how to generate leads via ads through Facebook or Instagram, give us a call and we can do some really cool training! 480-467-1069

Facebook gives you the ability to reach audiences you may not have been able to reach otherwise.  This is considered one of the top ways to generate real estate leads and helps you to develop a strong brand identity. Over the past decade, Facebook has created tools customized for business pages and continues to come out with exciting new features!

Creative Content

It all starts with great content. Always include a photo or video. Photos are interesting and speak volumes about your style and real estate page. Photos have been shown to increase your engagement rate by 50 times!  Engagement is the KEY! Every time someone likes, comments or shares your posts, their friends see that activity on their feed as well! This FREE exposure marketing has been proven to generate real estate leads!

You don’t have to be a Photoshop expert to do this. Use captivating and clear photos that you would like to reflect that post. There are many free apps and websites you can utilize that will help you post the perfect picture for your content! Read here to browse through the top 10.

Next, make sure your headlines for these posts are short and sweet. Keep the content clean and to the point. Put yourself in the consumers position. Would you stop scrolling and click on that post? Ask questions and keep your posts interesting! The whole purpose of posting is to engage your audience.

Mix it Up!

Keep your followers on their toes with different types of posts. No one wants to read the same old boring post everyday! Consider starting contests or giveaways. These are fun, engage your audience, and can drive solid growth and engagement to your social pages. If you have other Social Media accounts, share these contests/giveaways on these as well.  To learn more about how to run contests on Social Media click here.

Another great way to connect genuinely with your audience is to throw in some personal posts here and there. Maybe you’ve picked up a fun hobby, or there’s a new baby born in the family – these types of posts show followers you’re not just all about business. Keeping your friends and community updated with whats going on in your life builds a stronger connection and makes you stand out from other real estate businesses around you.

Call To Action

Your Facebook followers may love your creative posts, but you’re never going to get anywhere if you don’t give them a call to action. Tell them what you want them to do and how to do it. Be concise and always ASK questions. Follow up these questions with a “Tell us in the comments”, don’t just leave them open ended. Look what happens when you tell your fans to specifically comment:    (via Momentus Media)

If you take a look at any of the top YouTube channels, they all end with “What do you think about this funny dog video? Tell us in the comments! And remember to hit subscribe!”

This “call to action” should be in your posts and on your actual Facebook page. In 2014, Facebook created an awesome feature which allows business pages to have a button that leads users to your website, blog, or to call you directly. There are many buttons to choose from, whichever you choose will show up right beneath your cover photo.

Another great tool to connect with your community is through Instagram. Instagram is the fastest growing app globally, increasing its followers by 23 percent in the last six months!

This easy to use app allows you to post aesthetically pleasing photos, listings, videos, testimonials, and much more. Show off what you bring to the table for potential clients with awesome original photos and short videos of your adventures as a Real Estate Agent!

Here are a few ideas on how to generate real estate leads on Instagram.

Past Client Testimonials

Reach out to past clients who have had a positive experience with you. Ask about getting a quick video testimonial that you can post on your social media accounts. Show off happy clients in their new big, beautiful homes. This is a successful tactic bringing in interested new home buyers and makes your posts seem more appealing and credible.

Using Hashtags

As important as it is to use hashtags, make sure they are both popular and relevant. If there’s too many, that makes the post look unnatural and less appealing. Hashtags are important because this is a search tool many people use on Instagram. For example, searching #homeswithapool pulls up any photo that is attached to that hashtag. Use this to your advantage and brainstorm which hashtags would fit best with your individual photos.

Comment and Direct Message

Instagram is a great conversation starter! Be interactive with your followers and stay in touch with other local businesses. This opens up windows and will also help you gain more followers.

If someone has a specific question about your business or the home you just posted, always be on top of responding as soon as possible. Try not to sound too scripted, remain friendly and professional! Direct Messaging is an even better option because it is a little more personal.

If you take all these tips and stay consistent, we promise you over time you’ll see successful results. It’s impossible not to generate more leads if you make these tactics your top priority! Be patient, work hard, and promote yourself the best you can.
